Perfect Sense by Amanda Cowen (A Sports Romance Review)
He’s gorgeous. He’s reckless. And he’s every woman’s dirty fantasy in the state of California.. except one… Quinn Ashby.

I have to say, this book was intense, which I think makes Perfect Sense.
I’m starting to become a huge fan of sports romance books. I’m not sure when it started, but there’s just something about a bad boy on the field (or in the rink) that really does it for me. There’s a lot happening behind the scenes, and it gives you a sneak peek at an entirely different world than you’re used to, you know?
Perfect Sense is exactly like that. Cash is the bad boy hockey player that you hate to love. He’s too much, way over the top, but there’s just something about him that keeps bringing you back…
Quinn really shouldn’t fall for him, either. She’s the good girl type who follows the rules and keeps everything safe. I think we all know where this is going by now, though…
Together, they’re a little crazy, but in a good way! I loved their chemistry together, and I thought it was a lot of fun to read about them. You wouldn’t expect them to fit, because at first they’re more opposites, but I really love those kinds of books. I like seeing the characters figuring out how to work together, and then finding out what they like about each other. Perfect Sense is exactly that kind of book.
One thing I really enjoyed was the drama between them, though. Cash is too seductive and tempting by far, but this might not be good for Quinn’s career. Can she give up everything in order to be with him, or are they going to have to keep their secrets extra secret? I’m not going to spoil anything, but you’re going to have to read it and find out for yourself.
I really enjoyed this book, though. It’s the first one I’ve read by Amanda Cowen, and I’m definitely looking forward to more. I can’t wait for the next book in the series, Perfect Love! It should be fun.
Now for the ratings…
Cover – I liked the cover a lot, but it’s just a little different from what I’m used to. It definitely made me want to read the book, but I think the story is more exciting than the cover first makes it seem.
Story – The story is definitely what I was looking for! If you’re into bad boy hockey players with an attitude and the good girls who can’t seem to stay away from them, well… I’m a fan of Helena Hunting’s Pucked series, and Perfect Sense reminded me of that, so if you like those books, I think you’ll enjoy this one, too.
Bad Boys – Obviously we need to rank Cash, right? He’s a good bad boy, that’s for sure. He’s not the criminal sort, if that’s what you’re looking for, but he’s rough around the edges and as a hockey player he’s obviously tougher than most. I would say he’s a little more refined as far as bad boys go, but those are the kinds I like, so I’m giving him good marks.
Romance Book Obsessional Approval Rating – I liked this book! Everyone I’ve talked to has also liked this book. The story was fun. I liked the Amanda Cowen’s writing style. Cash was great and Quinn was interesting in all the right ways. If you’re looking for a good sports romance book to read from an author you might not know about yet, I really recommend this one.
